The Metrological Confirmation process is defined as the set of operations required to ensure that a specific function of a measuring device satisfies the requirements for the intended use.
The Metrology Manager shall perform it regularly and every time the Testing & Calibration Instrument is taken in charge, for example, after a re-calibration procedure or after a suspension period.
The measurement uncertainty of a Testing & Calibration Instrument and its suitability for the purpose intended in their living environment, not to be confused with the measurement uncertainty expressed in the calibration certificates (done in the laboratory site where the environment parameters are controlled).
CalRef supports the Metrology manager on the definition and the realization of the instrument sheet and on the periodic metrological confirmation of the Testing & Calibration Instruments. This procedure is required by both ISO 9001 (section 7.6) and the ISO 17025 and defined on ISO 10012-1
